LiVES::dyne - updated 27th October 2009
Some of you may be familiar with the dynebolic bootable CD, for those
that
are not, you can find it at:
http://www.dynebolic.org/
I have now created a LiVES module for dynebolic 2.0. This means that
Windows and Mac (Intel) users can now enjoy LiVES without having to go
through a full Linux install.
Here are the steps for running LiVES under Windows/Mac Intel.
1) Download the latest dynebolic (currently 2.5.2) ISO and burn it to
a CD
with your favourite CD burning software.*
2) Boot from the CD and create a "dock" (i.e. copy the /dyne directory
from the CD to a harddrive). You can also create a "nest" (/home
directory)
if you wish.
3) Download the module:
http://lives.sourceforge.net/LiVES.dyne
and copy it into /dyne/modules on the "dock" harddrive.
4) Reboot once more from the CD, and when prompted, select "boot from
harddisk"
5) LiVES should now appear in the menu under Video/Edit
6) The first time starting LiVES, you should go into
Preferences/Directories, and change the temp directory as appropriate.
7) Enjoy LiVES !
* Note: it is also possible to create a bootable pendrive with dynebolic and LiVES.
